I love seeing such an increase in activity on this site. It has certainly has generated a nice buzz. The sky is the limit for a social network like this that focuses on writers, agents and editors. I would love to see a short story contest where the writers still get to keep ownership of their stories. I think it would generate a lot of interest from current members as well as from writers who aren't members yet.

I'm happy to share that my recently-released book, Linked Lives (written under my pseudonym) received several 5-star ratings, won an international book award which has led to an interview with the media. Just a small local paper, but it's a start!

Marketing tips to sell more books would be great! Things like are books signings worth the time and energy? What type of press releases work best? When you finally get an interview with the press what should you say and not say? What are the most effective social media venues for promoting books? How to increase your rating on Amazon? etc.

News too good not to share!

A dear friend sent a copy of my book, Just Passing Through, to Glenn Beck. He enjoyed my book enough to invite me to Dallas, TX and be on The Blaze to promote my book. April 17th Carol, my friend, and I will be flying to Dallas, where we will be met at the airport and taken to our hotel. Friday, April 18th I will be on Glenn Beck's earl show to discuss the what...when...why...where of Just Passing Through.

Thanks for being happy for me.

Enjoyed my interview yesterday with Larry Davidson. His questions are always incisive. The program, where we talked of inspiration based on my novel, “Of Little Faith,” will air on Davidson & Co. at some point in April. Dates to come.

Hello all. fairly new to the site. I'm an author of 18 novels and three screenplays. I'm close to signing an option for one of my books (Falling Waters). I have a Producer who is actively searching for funding within his investor circles.

I'm not too keen on contests but would like a service that features small publishers. In my limited experience, I've found that a small publisher is the best route to publication for new authors.

I agree with Ian Nathaniel Cohen. Working together we all grow, sharing knowledge, expertise and encouragement.

Thanks for the message.  I'd like to see more ways for writers, agents, and editors to directly interact with each other somehow.

Hi all! Thanks Deborah and Jeff for the time you've put into this. I'm a YA author, though I have also written for adults and for younger children. A couple of my books are The Summer of No Regrets (Sourcebooks, 2012) and The Legend of the Valentine (Zondervan, 2002). My agent is Sara Crowe. Right now I'm working on a YA verse-novel involving time travel and the French Impressionists. I also work with teens as a teacher and mentor.

I recently started teaching fulltime again (subbing) and am determined to still finish the book. It is challenging, but I'm much happier when I can spend regular time on it. Does anyone else here work fulltime and consistently finish books? Maybe we can share some strategies.

My novel The Conspiracies of Dreams is now available on amazon.com for $2.99.  The paperback is $12.99.  It is about an Egyptian spy who fell in love with a beautiful Israeli actress and had to decide if he would be loyal to his country and religion or to the only woman he would ever love.  The book is 90 per cent factual and details the political intrigue involved in the 1956 Suez War between Egypt and Israel.  While the novel is a love story, it accurately depicts how Britain and France conspired to manipulate Middle East affairs when Nasser seized control of the Suez Canal from them.  The book has a read inside feature and you can read more about the book on my author page at amazon.com/author/sandradidner
