When I was a kid they were inexpensive and easily available, maybe a good alternative to TV on a rainy day. People seem to really rant against them. Cardboard with plastic pieces and weird symbols? Continue

How do you really know? Everything is our perception. When you dream, don't you believe it's real much of the time until you wake up? Have you ever experienced how insane people "really" hear and see…Continue

Welcome everyone. Thought I would share that we live in a house built in 1917. When our daughter lived at home she would stay up late and watch tv downstairs and we would sometimes hear her clomp around when she was going to the kitchen or bathroom. When she moved out we started hearing footsteps and realized she wasn't downstairs anymore. muahhhaha

Hi everyone. I just joined this group and am intrigued by all the stories you've shared of spirits occupying homes. I've never discussed it much, but I grew up in a house in which we had a benign but rather restless tall, dark-haired man roaming the basement--and it was not my oldest brother :) My sister and mother were also aware of the spirit, and on a number of occasions, he played the piano for me--soothing classical music--when I was home alone.

I'm primarily an editor, but for quite some time now, I've been writing a novel in which the spirit of a young woman, a flapper from the 1920s, figures prominently. It's set in an auction house, which seems a fitting location for a spirit to take up residence given the number of old things to be found there. As one of my characters says, "The ghosts probably ride right in on the sofas!" Anyway, I'm having fun with it, and I hope to publish sometime soon--before a certain milestone birthday.

Thanks for the comment, Marilyn. Have you, by the way, read the book called Touch by Alexi Zentner? I find it absolutely remarkable.

Donna: The house was built in 1920. The owner lived there until his death. Then his son lived there until his death. As far as I know, the house was never used as anything but a home. I've heard many tragic stories about the owners who lived there, though.

Joy: I know exactly what you mean! The story with a touch of 'strange' seems more interesting...

Alan: I no longer live in the house. Family emergencies forced me to move, but while I was there, they did respond to me. I could see the boat the old fisherman and his wife were looking for, so I would point to it and talk to them. They would follow my pointed finger and disappear. The Parson has never responded, though. But, the two women have nodded in my direction when I've put out apples on the table and lavender-scented soaps.

The first six chapters of my Kindle e-book "Lifting the Veils of Death"  pretty well covers all of the facets of dying and the different stages and who and why we are there.  It is only .99.  I would have put it on for free because I feel the info is good, but Amazon wouldn't let me.

Hello everyone!

Joy - When I was doing my radio show I spoke with many investigators, psychics, authors, etc., so I guess my first question would be are they responding to you? Do they notice your presence (are they intelligent), or are you simply watching them do the same thing over and over (a residual haunting)?

then  you could get an honest clairvoyant to come and find out why this has become a comfortable place for these Souls, unless you like living with them.  I have had newly deceased Souls come to me and I sent them to the light but you are dealing with something entirely different.  i know of a house in Spokane that had strong energies there because there was an Indian battle there and the energy still existed but you are speaking of something else. If you are comfortable sharing your premises, then good for you.

Thank you, Terry and Joan for the comments.

Joan: I have tried several times to do just that, but I've been unsuccessful. And to be honest, I have seen so many "people" in the house--an old fisherman and his wife who are continually searching for their boat; a housemaid who wants apples; a little boy huddles close to her; and Maggie, the fearful young woman who always wants to smell lavender--honestly, I've tried almost everything I know to free them, but nothing so far has worked.

Terry: I appreciate your comments, too. I think I might check out Annie's books. Thanks so much for sharing.
